CAN Counselor, Asian American Studies Department

Partner Unit: Asian American Studies Department 

• The goal of the CAN Program is to decrease barriers and increase access to mental health services for students from marginalized and underserved communities.
• Community Counselors can meet individually with students and provide a CAN Consultation, which is not counseling and there is no paperwork to complete, and no formal intake process.  In addition, students can be seen anonymously for a CAN Consultation.
• In addition to CAN Consultations, Community Counselors provide brief counseling to students.
• The Community Counselors also provide outreach programs that focus on mental health.
