Acute Care Clinic
Acute Care Clinic Medical and Mental Health Care Services
Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) offers both medical and mental health acute care services on the first floor of the Student Health & Wellness Center during normal hours of operation.
Appointments will be scheduled based on your current medical or mental health issue with one of the following:
- Medical Issues: Provider or RN (Registered Nurse)
- Mental Health Issues: Psychologist of the day
- Students are prioritized based on the severity of their problem(s) and may be referred to their primary care provider, acute care provider, or a higher level of care such as Sutter Davis Urgent Care, Davis Urgent Care, or the Sutter Davis Emergency Room.
SHCS Advice Nurse services are available by appointment at no charge for all UC Davis students wishing to discuss medical and mental health concerns and determine the need for care. These services can help you make informed decisions about your situation and direct you to the most appropriate departmental or campus resource. The Advice Nurse services are staffed by registered nursed located at the Student Health and Wellness Center who provide assistance in person or over the phone. Call (530) 752-2349 during normal hours of operation to schedule an appointment.
SHCS Does Not Run an Emergency Room Facility
All acute emergencies should contact 9-1-1 or seek care at the nearest emergency room. All students are advised to carry their health insurance ID card and have their insurance information readily available.
