Students Behind the Campaign

Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors

Look out for Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors as they spread the word on campus about mental health! You will see them at large events like orientation or stand-alone pop-up events in resource centers. Be sure to stop by and see what mental health resources and tips are available to you. Or simply stop by to chat with a fellow student! We know finding your community at UC Davis can be hard but these ambassadors can help you find your way.

  • Looking to become a Mental Health Ambassador?
  • About 30 Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors are employed under the Department of Public Health Sciences to embed Mental Well-being into the campus community. If you are interested, keep a lookout for positions on Handshake.

Health Education and Promotion Student Coordinators and Volunteers

Health Education and Promotion (HEP) student staff and volunteers will also be working to improve mental health on campus. Though you may not see them as often as the ambassadors, they work to support the communication of this campaign and help lead health promotion projects and presentations across campus.

  • Looking to get involved with Health Education and Promotion?
  • The Health Education and Promotion (HEP) department within Student Health and Counseling employs three Mental Well-Being Student Coordinators. If any positions are open, recruitment takes place on Handshake in spring quarter to hire student coordinators for the next academic year. These positions are responsible for assisting with projects related to mental health on campus including sleep health, stress management, suicide prevention, happiness/gratitude and stigma reduction. Recruitment for the Health Education and Promotion volunteer program also takes place during spring quarter. More information about HEP can be found on the Health Education and Promotion webpage.
